ABOUT ME

Hello, I’m Amanda Hansen—an Advanced Foot Care Nurse with 25 years of nursing experience and a clinician at heart. Through MedSole Foot Care I provide mobile professional foot care across Edmonton and surrounding communities, with a focus on prevention, comfort, and keeping you safely on your feet.

I believe the best care is both highly skilled and deeply human, and that clients deserve to feel safe, heard, respected, informed, and genuinely supported. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I take my time, explain what I’m seeing, and offer practical aftercare that fits manageably into their life.

My background in vascular surgery and complex wound care taught me how quickly small foot concerns can become serious—especially with diabetes, circulation issues, or limited mobility. That’s why I bring a clinical, evidence-based approach to every visit, provide clear education and why safety and infection prevention are non-negotiable in my practice.

Much of my clinical work has focused on lower-leg chronic disease, circulation issues, and wound prevention, which has played a pivotal role in shaping how I see foot health today. I’ve seen firsthand what happens when foot problems are overlooked, and how early, skilled intervention can preserve mobility, independence, and quality of life.

During the pandemic, I was redeployed from a nursing educator role back into frontline wound care. That experience reaffirmed how much I thrive in hands-on clinical care, clinical problem-solving, and the meaningful relationships that come from working directly with clients.

In April 2025, I completed Advanced Foot Care Training in Edmonton, Alberta. I then pursued additional in-depth mentorships with highly experienced advanced foot care nurses and deepened my knowledge through additional certification courses. I’m an active member of the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses and regularly complete continuing education to ensure my clients receive current, best-practice, evidence-based care.

Safety and infection prevention are built into every step of my service so you can feel confident you’re receiving regulated, professional care. (For details, please see the Sterilization page.)

At MedSole Foot Care, dignity is central to my approach, along with collaboration and empowerment—my role is to provide skilled, compassionate care, clear education, and practical aftercare support so you can make informed decisions about your health.
